What is Modern Masculinity?
In This Edition:
An affirmation
An announcement for the men in your life
A song
A practice
An affirmation for Growth
My parents used to have a saying:
“If everyone in the room tells you you’re drunk, you’re drunk!”
I never liked it. 😂
Buuuut there are some smart lessons baked into this potentially triggering phrase. I’ve come to interpret this to mean that if you’re hearing something from multiple sources, there’s something larger at play, so pay attention! Listen and be open to the lesson.
So what has everyone been telling me lately?
It’s time to serve men.
Today I’m thrilled to share that I am officially taking on men as clients.
Why men?
Men are underserved. Yes, I said it! In the personal development space, men often find themselves without a clear path. They can either follow outdated models of masculinity—or nothing at all.
Meanwhile, there is a growing crisis among young men: confusion, disconnection, and unmet emotional needs. The sad reality? Men die by suicide at a rate four times higher than women, yet are less likely to seek mental health support.
The very idea of toxic masculinity is weighing men down-in fact, studies show that negative perceptions of masculinity are linked to poorer mental health. In other words, simply believing that masculinity is “bad” can create its own kind of toxicity.
If that’s not enough – the men are literally asking me for help!
Why me?
The concepts I teach—about getting to know who you are, knowing your value, honoring your desires, and sharing your gifts with the world—are not limited to women. When I started Matria, I had a strong desire to channel my gifts to empower women. I still do.
And… there’s something else stirring deep in my soul. A deep inner knowing that this work is meant for more people. I know that I’m meant to serve women and men on their journey to balance & embodiment.
As the divine feminine rises, women are seeking the pure masculine presence. This is an invitation for men to step more fully into their power. To evolve beyond “toxic masculinity” and reclaim what it truly means to be masculine – deeply present, confident, protective and secure.

A song to Take Action
Ok ok – is Michael Jackson the male archetype we’re admiring? Not exactly. But the concepts within this song are at the core of personal development: change starts from within. The ripple effect of your own personal growth and development spans beyond what the eye can see.
Will redefining one person’s relationship to masculinity heal the world? It certainly could.
A practice for Celebrating Modern Masculinity
As a dear friend pointed out, some people will find themselves triggered by today’s announcement. Men, needing more support? Hah!
If you fall into that camp, trust me, I hear you loud and clear! And – you’re not wrong. We live in a patriarchal society where men hold the majority of positions of influence.
But hear me out: our society has become comfortable villainizing masculinity—and understandably so. Toxic masculinity is just that. When the masculine is out of balance, it's aggressive, overly competitive, and unstable.
It’s time to help the toxic masculinity heal, making way for the both the healthy masculine and feminine to exist in harmony.
So today’s practice is a reflection:
Think of a man in your life who exhibits healthy masculinity. What values does he live by? What traits does he exhibit?
That, my friend, is what we want more of in this world. Feeling inspired?
