Honoring Matriarchs: The Women Who Inspired Our Mission
Hi! Welcome.
Introducing Matria on the heels of Mother’s Day feels perfectly poetic. This past weekend was spent celebrating the matriarchs of my family. I am blessed that my two grandmothers are here with us, both in their 90s and surrounded by family, food and love.
My maternal grandmother is the most religious and spiritual woman I know. She is vibrant in her early 90s thanks to her faith, community and love for family. If you go to church with my Grandma, be sure to schedule in an extra hour after mass to watch as she holds court in the church foyer. I get my energy and faith from my Grandma Rita.
My father’s mother just celebrated her 90th birthday. In her nine decades, she has transformed from mother to great-grandmother, business owner to world-traveler, and wife to widow. For a long period of time, Nan’s reigning title was ‘Mrs. C’ – the business manager, treasurer and accountant keeping the family business in order (and hiring just the right “gal/guy Friday” - my mother!). My Nan ignited a deep curiosity for travel in me as a young girl and I have her to thank for my hosting abilities.
I’m wearing a dress that Nan bought in Florence over 35 years ago to celebrate Nan’s 90th Birthday.
It’s with these powerful and feminine Matriarchs in mind that I proudly introduce Matria.
Matria is an ecosystem to empower and invest in women through coaching, community and capital. We believe that women can do it all, but not all alone. And that’s why we’re here.
Becoming Matriarch: Our Foundational Coaching Program
Becoming Matria: Our founding coaching program, Becoming Matria, combines personal and business coaching for women and founders. This transformational program leaves clients empowered in their values, grounded in their worth and clear on the vision for their full life.
Matria Coalition: Building Sisterhood for Aligned Goals
Matria Coalition is our community membership program that celebrates the power and femininity of a woman. Coalition members empower and inspire each other to step into their highest selves and bring their most aligned goals to fruition.
The Future of Matria: Investing in Female Founders
Capital: Matria will grow to invest directly into female founded businesses. We’ll start by spotlighting female founders and the products and services they offer to bring awareness to their brands, build community, and support female founders.
Business is a spiritual practice. Matria programs support the whole person along their journey as a woman, founder and business owner. We’re so glad you’re here for the beginning of Matria and hope you’ll continue to be a part of our community. While Matria may currently cater to women, we believe men play a necessary and powerful role in empowering women. However you identify, we invite you to be a part of our community and support our mission.
